<. He received a PhD in Informatics Engineering (2013) from the [FEUP (Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto)](http://www.fe.up.pt), Porto/PT. He also received a MS degree in Automation and Systems Engineering (2008) from the [UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina)](http://www.ufsc.br), a postgraduate degree (in broad sense) in Networks and Distributed Systems (2006) from the Uniplac (Universidade do Planalto Catarinense) and a BS degree in Informatics (2003) from the Uniplac (Universidade do Planalto Catarinense). His research interests include: Real-Time Communications, Industrial Networks, *Internet of Things* (IoT) and Industry 4.0.
